David J. Glass is president of D. Glass Associates, Inc., Needham, Massachusetts, a consulting firm specializing in market and technology assessments, technology transfer and regulatory affairs in hazardous waste remediation, with particular emphasis on phytoremediation and bioremediation. D. Glass Associates, Inc. has advised companies in North America and Europe on the structure of remediation markets, and has assisted firms in North America, South America and Europe locate potential partners or customers for remediation technologies.

David Glass is the author of several market reports and articles on bioremediation, including "The 1998 U.S. Market for Phytoremediation", April 1998, "The Promising Worldwide Bioremediation Market", published by Decision Resources, Inc. in December 1993, and "Bioremediation in Germany", June 1994. Dr. Glass was a keynote speaker on international bioremediation markets at the 3^rd Battelle Bioremediation Symposium, San Diego, California, in April 1995, and was an featured speaker on phytoremediation markets at the 2^nd and 3^rd Annual IBC Phytoremediation Conferences, Seattle, Washington, June 1997, and Houston, Texas, June 1998, respectively.

Dr. Glass holds a B.S. degree in biological sciences from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in biochemical sciences from Princeton University. Before establishing his consulting practice in 1990, Dr. Glass spent nine years at BioTechnica International, focusing on the commercial uses and government regulation of microorganisms in the environment. In addition to his consulting activities, he is associate director of the technology transfer office at Massachusetts General Hospital.
