Contaminated Soils, Volume 2

Proceedings of the 1996 Eleventh Annual Conference on Contaminated Soils, held at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst

Edited by Edward J. Calabrese, Paul T. Kostecki and Marc Bonazountas
U.S. $59.95, 1997, 734 pp. ISBN 1-884940-10-2

This volume is the proceedings from the Eleventh Annual Contaminated Soils Conference held at the University of Massachusetts. The American Society for Testing and Materials recently released a Risk- Based Corrective Action (RBCA) standard that is gaining increasing acceptance, particularly among state agencies responsible for leaking underground storage tank cleanup. The success of this approach depends on careful site characterization, scientifically documented estimates of natural attenuation processes, and proper selection and monitoring of effective low cost remediation technologies. This volume provides unique solutions and technical information on a wide spectrum of these environmental issues. Also included are papers from a special session that was held at the conference to address the investigation, management, and remediation of manufactured-gas plant site
